ESP not starting against Windows Active Directory on 8.12.0rc3

build name: hpccsystems-platform-internal_8.12.0-rc3.el7.x86_64_withsymbols.rpm

came from gordonsmith 's build of rc3.

Here are the series of events that took place during testing.

1. Installed the build listed above on all nodes of the 160 cluster.
2. the https esp on node 101 didn't start.  This is the one that's attached to the Windows AD.
3. I noticed that there was a core file.  (backtrace is attached and named RC3_esp_backtrace_20230125.txt)
4. This morning I uninstalled rc3 and installed rc1.
5. Everything started fine on rc1
6. I installed rc3 on just the esp node (101) and restarted things. (Rest of the cluster is on rc1)
7. the esp failed to start and had this core backtrace: RC3_esp_backtrace_20230126.txt
8. I then stopped everything, uninstalled hpccsystems on all nodes, and reinstalled rc3 on all nodes.
9. ESP did not start again, but also did not core.
10. I then reconfigured the ESP on node 101 to point to russwhitehead 's LDAP and started things up.
11. The ESP started this time.
