Description
Restartable thread waits for the thread to actually start running before returning.
I can't really see any reason for doing that. RecordPullerThread also waits for the child thread to start, and again I can't think of any reason why that is needed.
I think both of these are likely to be the cause of some significant (ms) startup times for keyed join activities.
