Currently there are eclcc option to generate meta information for a query. Once the syntax checking is optimized this will need revisiting:
The meta information is generated a side-effect of parsing the ECL. If the ECL is no longer parsed the meta will not be generated.
Is it ok (or better) for Gordon to only receive meta information for ECL that has changed? Generating a complete set of meta information may be tricky - it would require distributed meta files which are then glued together.
NB: We should never generate meta information for a simplified definition.
